  • We are happy with the monitor for the most part, but it was extremely disappointing to us when we realized that it not only doesn’t have a remote control, but does not support one. That is almost a show stopper for us. We are currently struggling with purchasing a receiver, so we can hook up our PC and our DVR audio, and at least control the volume remotely, but we are not going to be able to power the monitor on or off with a remote control. Adding salt to the wound, there is no way, at least that we have found, to switch between video inputs (VGA to Component, for instance). That means that we have to physically get up and walk over to push the button on the confusing front panel interface. Wow, did I really give this three stars? I must be in a good mood.

Generally this is a good monitor, with all the video input selection.

Like the 5 buttons OSD, its much better than touch sensitive on Gateway HD2200 I previously own.

I Found 1 dead pixel on my unit, which is annoying.

If you are thinking of purchasing this monitor for your Windows 7 system, DON’T!!! The webcam on this monitor is incompatible with

Windows 7. It works with XP and Vista, but NOT WINDOWS 7! ASUS doesn’t plan to update the driver to solve that problem. All you see is a bunch of large two-toned gray pixels (maybe 100 or so). Not even a low-res picture.

There’s no point paying $40 more for a webcam that doesn’t work. Get the model that doesn’t have a webcam or a monitor from a trusted manufacturer. Asus is manufactured in CHINA. After all the crappy coming of that country lately, I shouldn’t known better than to have purchased this one. VERY DISAPPOINTING!!!

After receiving a new PC, I connected the ASUS Monitor to my Windows 7 OS and the WEB CAM would not operate. I called ASUS Tech Support and Tech stated to me that the Web Cam and its Software were NOT compatible with the Windows 7 Operating System and that there were no plans in updating the Drivers so that the Web Cam would operate. I’m “VERY DISSAPPOINTED” in ASUS for having such an attitude.
